MissionFest is set in the unique City of San Juan Capistrano. We say unique, because not many would expect to find a cowboy town sitting on the Pacific coast midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. San Juan Capistrano is deep in history and rich in traditions. It’s a community that is still evolving after over 220 years and is committed to preserving the history that defines us.
The founders of MissionFest have been part of the San Juan Capistrano community for decades and embrace the rich traditions. The city takes great pride in being built around our historic mission; and we gather annually at the Return of The Swallows and the Famous Swallows Day Parade. The charm of San Juan Capistrano is undeniable. It’s one of those gems you see in a movie or read about in a book; except it really does exist.
MissionFest was created to give our city and our warm surrounding communities, a grand experience, in our own back yard, and with a flair of elegance. We’re here to gather friends, family, co-workers, the people we live with and care about, and welcome all others to our events.
The Event Venue
MissionFest is set at The Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park at San Juan Capistrano. This magnificent setting is recognized as one of the most beautiful equestrian parks and host of some of America’s most prestigious events. It is also home of the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo; one of the largest purses and qualifier to the National Finals Rodeo. This was the logical place for MissionFest to begin our festival journey.
At MissionFest you can get comfortable and relax on one of the most pristine manicured grass lawns in the world and enjoy live headline music, great wines, craft beer, fine spirits and food prepared by our local gourmets. MissionFest loves all music; especially the kind that gets people dancing.
In 2018, MissionFest was born. Our attendance exceeded our expectations, as an audience of wine and music lovers gathered from our local communities for what turned out to be an exciting and elegant experience, that left our guests wanting more.
In 2019, MissionFest raised the stakes and offered a lineup of headline music and combined it with a wine festival that exposed the potential of our event and venue. Nearly 4000 wine and country music fans gathered for what was described as “mini Coachella with class”.
2020 will go down as the year without live events.
MissionFest will be back in 2021 will a bigger and better line-up. We’ll be announcing the show in the coming weeks, so please get on our mailing list to stay up-to-date!
